Bicycle Film Festival Tallinn // June 2-4 2011
Right, the BFF Tallinn is only couple of days away, you can now find the full program and info on all the events here.
Olli Erkkilä Custom Bicycles Exhibition @ Tallinn Bicycle Week 3.-5.6.2011
You've seen all the photos of his projects here already but next weekend Olli's first ever exhibition will take place at the Tallinn Bicycle Week, Estonia. Be there, we will.
"The custom bicycles built by legendary Finnish bike builder Olli Erkkilä will be on display during Friday and Saturday in NO99 Straw Theater (at Skoone bastion, in Rannamäe tee 11"
Also, if you look at my previous post really carefully, you can actually see the man himself riding his latest and by far the greatest creation at the Helsinki velodrome, proving that his bikes are not just showpieces...

1V3V Turku Photos
Last weekend in Turku was a blast but somehow very few good photos have surfaced after the event. That is until Joonas AKA Mr. Le Prince finally put up some so just head over to his blog to check them out.
Lots of people showed up from all over, sun was shining, bike polo was played, more people raced in the Alleycat than ever before in Finland, beer was drank, fun was had. So just like Joonas was already saying: What else can you ask for?

Wooden bikes from Audi (no foolin’)
Before I leave, I want to quickly just pass along a few links of interest.
VANDEYK Contemporary Cycles
According to founder Arendt van Deyk,VANDEYK Contemporary Cycles is a collaboration of renowned creative professionals dedicated to a simple mission:“designing and building the most ravishingly beautiful bicycles – and not compromising along the way. Ever.” Bicycles are van Deyk’s passion, and that is his reason for starting the new company, which he refers to as “a ‘soulproject’ with the ambition for joy and perfection for all of us – instead of just being a mere business-focused venture.” The collections of handcrafted VANDEYK bikes will be strictly limited-edition, with only 25 of each produced. Nightstream, pictured here, is the first collection, but look for more to follow. In addition to being a former bike racer, van Deyk has 12 years of experience working in creative fields (he is currently head of international Digital Brand Communication for a major German premium car manufacturer). The diverse team that he has assembled for the new brand has backgrounds in design, frame building, photography, and writing. The group’s creative energy shows in the first bike, which you can see a few nice shots of here. Check out the website for more pictures and information as well. |

Milano Bike Politics: Piste Ciclabili
My Italian skills suck but this dude is apparently the leftist party candidate for the Mayor of Milano in the coming elections. Look carefully at his bike, 'cos I don't see him coasting...

Keirin Stout 7%
As seen in Pikkulintu Pub at the old Puotila Shopping Mall in Helsinki. Looks like a trip out into the eastern suburbs is necessary.
